Middle School
Here at Hayah West, we realize how crucial these years are to the development of balanced and successful young adolescents. We aim to provide holistic support to our students in every aspect of their lives; not just academics. The middle school years aim to prepare students with the knowledge, study skills, social skills, and community support needed for their development. With that in mind, our Character Education (CE) team provides age-appropriate lessons and activities to guide our students through life’s challenges. We also aim to provide a variety of extra-curricular activities and clubs. In terms of academic studies, the middle school aims to broaden students’ knowledge base through transdisciplinary studies which emphasize the learning traits and expose students to various approaches to learning.
The Middle School curriculum draws from the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English Language and Math, whereas the Science curriculum is built upon the Next Generation Science Skills (NGSS). Social Studies is a combination of international standards when taught in English and the Ministry of Education (MOE) standards when taught in Arabic. Arabic, religion, and some of the Social Studies are based upon MOE standards.
